About this role:
Our Business Development Representatives (BDR) support the sales team in prospecting, cold-calling, and engaging with potential clients to schedule meetings for our Sales Managers to nurture leads into new client accounts.
Simply put, this role is pivotal in ensuring the sales team has a healthy pipeline of qualified meetings.
Our BDRs are responsible for identifying new business opportunities and managing the lead-sourcing process. The BD team conducts outbound prospecting efforts, nurtures leads, and builds relationships with prospects to drive company growth, increase revenue, and improve profits.
Our BDs are encouraged to bring new ideas and collaborate with the broader BD and Sales departments to execute sales strategies that generate new business and revenue growth within existing client accounts.

This is a remote work opportunity, open to applicants based anywhere in the contiguous United States, in support of our US operations based in Miami, Florida.
In this role, you can expect to:
Identify and qualify new business opportunities through targeted outbound campaigns using telephone, email, and the web - you’ll be able to build creative campaigns and iterate to find what is most effective
Support the Sales Managers and broader sales team within an assigned territory by conducting a high volume of prospecting for open leads (our BDRs aren’t shy about picking up the phone)
Set qualified meetings for assigned Sales Managers based on set criteria
Become a product expert and partner with Sales Managers to consult the best-customized solutions to meet prospective customers’ communication needs
Build rapport and work effectively with a cross-functional team to meet account performance objectives and develop a healthy lead pipeline
Work effectively in a remote setting; all of your colleagues are only a video call away, but your daily commute will be to your home office
Enjoy the thrill of hunting and prospecting, and take ownership of your monthly goals with a tenacious mentality eager to succeed
We're looking for someone who has:
A strong business and sales acumen, positive attitude, and are an approachable, professional relationship builder

1-2+ years of experience as a top performer in a client-facing role, quota-carrying role
- Prior experience working as an outbound BDR or SDR is not required but strongly preferred to simplify new hire training and decrease ramp time to production
Understand that timing is everything; there is no standard sales cycle for our products - some prospects are ready to buy right away, while others need more time
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; comfortable speaking with prospective clients of all levels, including C-level executives
Prior knowledge of SalesForce.com or other CRM system
Experience using Sales Engagement and Sales intel software like SalesLoft, ZoomInfo, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, Orum, etc.
Exceptional analytical, organizational, and time-management skills
An agile working style, open to adopting evolving simpleshow practices and technology - you sell it, and we will deliver it with the utmost customer service and client satisfaction!
Bachelor’s degree in Sales, Business, Management, or another related field (relevant work experience can be considered in lieu of a degree)
Strong computer skills and proficiency in Google Workspace, Excel, and other word-processing tools
Nice to haves:
Experience selling into complex organizations across various industries
Experience selling technology or E-Learning solutions
Familiarity with our target departments: Learning and Development (L&D), Training, Compliance, and Emergency Health and Safety (EHS)

Our hiring process:
We have structured our Interview process to mirror the Sales process. This allows you to showcase your sales skills while we get to know you as a person and a sales professional. Along the way, you’ll learn more about simpleshow, our teams, and the details of this opportunity.
As a remote company, our recruitment process is also entirely remote, utilizing video conferencing (Zoom or Google Meet).
Initial Interview with our People Operations Sr. Manager (~30 mins)
BDR Skills Assessment, Written Evaluation (~1 hr to complete)
Technical Skills Interview with the hiring team (30-45 mins)
Cold-call Role-Play (~30 mins)
- Potentially a final interview, if needed, to meet other members of the team (~30 minutes)
If all goes well, we proceed to a reference check and offer stage.
Our targeted Base Salary Range for this position is $43,000 - 60,000. Additionally, compensation for sales roles includes a commission/bonus structure. This range is not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Various factors determine compensation; a starting salary could fall outside this range. Actual salaries will vary depending on, but not limited to, experience, specialized skills, internal alignment, and working location. This range is for candidates located in the U.S., including the New York City metro area.
