About this role:
Simply put, in this role, the Business Development Team Lead will be a player-coach responsible for leading the BD team and working alongside their direct reports as an outbound Business Development Representative.
Our ideal candidate will drive the company’s growth by ensuring the BD team effectively prospects, book qualified meetings, and support the top of our sales funnel to drive revenue growth. You’ll be responsible for ensuring our sales pipeline is fueled by yourself and the BD team to aid our continued sales growth with new and existing Fortune 5000 corporate clients.
In this role, the BD Team Lead will coach the other BDs, develop new strategies to optimize prospecting efforts, report on and provide analysis of business development activities, and manage their own prospecting responsibilities. Because of these sometimes conflicting priorities, this role requires someone to be highly self-motivated with excellent time management skills.
As a leader within the sales department, the Business Development Team Lead will collaborate with the Sales and Marketing teams to develop and execute top-of-the-funnel sales strategies.
This fully remote opportunity supports our US operations based in Miami, Florida. This role is open to applicants based anywhere in the contiguous United States.
In this role, you can expect to:
Lead and manage the Business Development team, including hiring, coaching the team on their performance, and suggesting opportunities for improvement and skill development
Collaborate with the members of the Sales leadership team to strategize best practices and innovate on current processes and procedures for the Business Development team
Provide support to the Business Development team, including identifying and removing roadblocks and ensuring team members have the resources they need to succeed
Work alongside the BDRs to identify and qualify new business opportunities through targeted campaigns to identify new business opportunities and build relationships with prospects
Collaborate with Sales Managers to ensure a healthy pipeline of qualified meetings and drive revenue growth through the sales process
Develop and implement processes to enable the Business Development team to work efficiently and effectively
Monitor and analyze sales data and metrics to identify trends and opportunities for improvement, guiding the overall business development strategy
Develop targeted outbound campaigns to generate leads, collaborating with the Marketing team to create branded materials and leveraging existing marketing materials for email outreach
Foster a culture of collaboration and teamwork within the Business Development team and across the organization
Have full knowledge of all simpleshow products; become a product expert and partner with Sales Managers to consult the best-customized solutions to meet prospective customers’ communication needs
Stay informed of market changes and emerging trends in the industry
Maintain accurate records utilizing our CRM, Salesforce, and other Sales Enablement systems, such as SalesLoft
Assist in the management of our Sales tech stack, including Orum, GMass, and LinkedIn Sales Navigator
Conduct research and learn to leverage new technologies that could enhance the overall prospecting efforts. Additionally, compare competitors of the existing tech stack to ensure cost efficiency
Build rapport and work effectively with a robust cross-functional team to meet account performance objectives and customers’ expectations
Pivot and adapt to continuously changing sets of tasks, projects, responsibilities, and customer or prospect behavior
Most importantly, our Business Development team members and supervisors will maintain a positive attitude that promotes teamwork within the company and promotes a favorable image of simpleshow to clients
We’re looking for someone who has the following:
Proven track record of driving revenue growth and achieving sales targets
Experience in a Business Development role as a top performer, leading by example with a track record of exceeding metrics and quotas
Experience leading and managing a high-performing Business Development team, preferably in a SaaS or technology environment
A high sense of urgency, excellent time management, and the capability to work independently (yet collaboratively) in a fully remote setting
Ability to operate in an ambiguous, fast-paced work environment, have an agile working style, positive attitude, and professional demeanor, open to adopting evolving simpleshow practices and technology
Prior knowledge of Salesforce (or another CRM), SalesLoft, and other sales technology: LinkedIn Sales Navigator, ZoomInfo, Orum, GMass etc.
Strong computer skills, proficiency in Google Workspace, and aptitude for learning new tech
Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned, this role may require additional responsibilities on an as-needed basis and has the opportunity to evolve as we grow
Strong business acumen and understanding of sales processes and methodologies
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; comfortable speaking with prospective clients of all levels, including executives
Bachelor’s degree in Sales, Business, Management, or another related field (relevant work experience can be considered in lieu of a degree)

We have structured our Interview process to provide multiple touchpoints with our team members. This allows you to showcase your skills while we get to know you as a person and a professional. Along the way, you’ll learn more about simpleshow, our teams, and the details of this opportunity.
As we are a remote-first company, our recruitment process is also entirely remote, utilizing video conferencing (Zoom or Google Meet).
A series of interviews to meet with the hiring team. The number of interviews will be determined at a later date.
If all goes well, we proceed to a reference check and offer stage.
Location: We are a fully remote company! Rather than restrict ourselves to only finding talent in one city, we’d rather find the absolute best people regardless of where they live.
Start date: We’d like candidates to start as soon as possible after receiving an offer, though we understand and will do our best to work with constraints due to existing commitments, etc.

Compensation: Our targeted Base Salary Range for this position is to be determined. Total compensation for this role includes base salary and a commission/bonus plan tied to performance metrics.
Various factors determine individual compensation decisions; an actual starting salary could fall outside this range. Salaries vary depending on, but are not limited to, experience, specialized skills, internal alignment, working location, and balancing internal equity relative to peers at the company.
