About this role:

simpleshow, the global market leader for explainer videos, is looking for a Freelance Front-End Web Developer, based in Latin America. As a Developer for simpleshow, you will combine the art of instructional design with the art & science of programming.

This role is open to applicants based anywhere in Central or South America. Strong written and verbal skills in English are required. This is a fully remote opportunity, supporting our US operations based in Miami, Florida. 

In this role, you can expect to:

Responsibilities include translation of the provided UI/UX design storyboards to actual eLearning modules, using our own proprietary JavaScript framework. You will work with our Concept Writers to bridge the gap between graphic design and technical implementation.

• Develop engaging interactive eLearning modules/courses utilizing current web technologies

• Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs and interaction ideas

• Optimize application for maximum speed and scalability

• Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders

• Test, troubleshoot, and identify potential functionality errors by communicating inside and outside of LMS (learning management systems)

• Taking constructive criticism and implementing feedback thoroughly

• Deliver quality work while adhering to the production schedule and deadlines

• Have a positive attitude and care for the simpleshow brand!

Qualifications:

• Proficient understanding of web markup, including; HTML5, CSS3 with grid, SASS/SCSS, jQuery, and JavaScript

• Proficient understanding of web media technologies (video and audio)

• Proficient understanding of responsive web design, cross-browser compatibility issues, and ways to work around them

• Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git or bitbucket

• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English

You'll have an edge if:

• You have basic knowledge of Photoshop; are able to crop, resize, or perform small adjustments on an image 

• Basic knowledge of Adobe Illustrator to vectorize image assets

• You have basic knowledge of the eLearning world, learning management systems, and SCORM API - this is a plus, but not required
